Can’t Workout Without a Bra

I consider myself to be one of the most organized females on the planet, if not, THE most. Today has been one of those days where I NEED a cardio day. No weights, no squats, no lunges, just pure cardio. Make me sweat. I had planned on going to the gym during lunch and after work. I had 2 pairs of workout capris, 2 tanks, 2 pairs of socks and my shoes. I was good to go. Not sure if you noticed anything? Where’s Waldo? Blondie forgot her boulder holder. I didn’t just forget 1 bra, I forgot 2. Now I realize why my gym bag didn’t feel as heavy as it normally should!

Instead of my lunch time workout that I my body was craving, I took a field trip home where I grabbed not 1, but 2 bras, fed the always hungry Jake, and whipped up a cookies & cream protein shake for my lunch. Appetizers included 20 handfuls of sunflower seeds and leftover chicken from last night. I could tell my body wanted veggies when I included about 1 handful too many of spinach in my shake. It was a little too green for me and I had to close my nose to get the last inch down. Ick!

I will be using this packet of Neuro Edge Eight Ball before my workout today. I received 2 packets in my Bulu Box that I received last month, and the first packet I used really helped me stay focused through my workout, so I’m really hoping for the same kick-ass results this evening!

Notice my notes on the pad? My best friend Mike and I are planning an extended vacation in Los Angeles at the beginning of November. He bartends at a hotel in Boston on the side and can get rooms at any hotel that’s part of his chain so we’ll be staying at a swanky hotel for about $50 a night.  We were actually also debating Florida but I have a flight voucher out West that I need to use. Still kind of itching for Florida though… and hotel has not been chosen or booked yet so there’s still hope!

Continent Pumpkin Pancakes & a New Ab Workout

Last night after work I went shopping for new pants and new boots. Well, guess what?! I failed. Twice. Maybe three times since I was so hungry and had to call it quits early on in the shopping game. I do that all the time. My raging appetite always cuts shopping short.

When I get hungry I get cranky, and when I get cranky and there’s no food in sight, my eyes turn red and I go ten kinds of crazy. I might not be THAT dramatic, but I can get grumpy if I’m thirsty or hungry, which is why my purse looks like a food cabinet. There’s always something in there, whether it be a protein bar, nuts, a banana or an apple. My ex used to always make fun of me because I would always just “whip it out,” but I’m almost positive my stash saved him more times than it did me.

I found several pairs of boots that I loved but my damn runners’ calves made it impossible to put them on buy them. Those boots are made for little girls who don’t have muscle! Make boots for those ladies with power running through their veins! Haven’t we learned that muscle is the new skinny?

After returning one sweatshirt and becoming $19.99 richer, I headed home and got to making Peanut Butter Fingers’ Pumpkin Protein Pancakes. I had trouble with my little blender and gave up on getting the batter as soupy as I had wanted, so I gave it a whirl regardless and ended up with continent pumpkin protein pancakes.

They weren’t as pumpkin-y as I was expecting, but I’m glad I gave them a go! I absolutely love her Almond Butter Pancakes, so I think her next pancake recipe I try is her Pumpkin Almond Flour Pancakes. Gonna be another rainy weekend so I think that will be on the menu!

This morning I woke up bright-eyed and bushy-tailed. I was excited to see how my legs were going to handle my am run after 3 days of hardcore workouts. My legs carried me a little farther than yesterday, but my calves and ass were burning! After my 3.3 mile run, I decided to switch up my post-run workout and did the “1-2-3 Ab Workout” that Alaine posted yesterday.

This ab workout kept my abs working straight and it was actually fun going from one exercise to the next and alternating reps. This is a keeper and it fit perfectly into the allotted time I have after my morning runs. Thanks girl!

Morning Workout

  • 3.3 mile run
  • 2 sets of 15 stair push-ups
  • 1-2-3 Ab Workout

This mornings breakfast was once again overnight oats. My girl Allie (I know too many Allies) who just moved to South Carolina to teach, gave me the idea of strawberry banana oats. Wham bam thank you m’am!

Strawberry Banana Overnight Oats

  • ½ cup rolled oats
  • ½ cup plain Fage Greek yogurt
  • 1/3 cup Almond Breeze Unsweetened Vanilla milk
  • Chia seeds
  • 1 tbsp strawberry jam
  • Cut-up banana – Half went in my mouth
