Staring at Val Chmerkovskiy’s Abs All Day

It’s finally Friday! I don’t know about you, but this week left me all screwed up. I keep thinking that New Year’s Day was Sunday and not Tuesday, and I continually refer back to that mindset. I’m just so excited that it’s almost the weekend, and so far the only thing on my agenda is to spend Sunday with my cousin, Nikki. Right now I’m enjoying the fact that Saturday is completely free with nothing on the agenda.

Last night I enjoyed another night of troubled sleeping. Too much on the brain, so once again, I settled in for a long read of Blog Inc.

20130104-113845.jpg
Seriously loving this book SO much! I love blogging, but this book is making me so excited for the future of my blog, which is another goal of 2013.

It got me so excited that last night I did a little research and this morning I signed up with Web Hosting Hub and purchased a redesign for good ol’ Running on Peanut Butter! 🙂

At the beginning of December I actually purchased a package with Blue Host but had too many difficulties so I cancelled with them and have been trying to find a great host the past several weeks, since I’ve been dying for a redesign since October. The selling point with Hub is that for $25 they will transfer everything for you. Yes, everything. That was my big issue with Blue Host. Every time I contacted support I was led in 20 different directions and after a while, it was too time consuming and frustrating.

So hopefully in several weeks this little blog will be even prettier!

Oh, ps, did you notice anything unusual about the above picture of Blog Inc.?

20130104-114046.jpg
That’s right, since my bookmark is actually in the visor of my car (don’t ask), I had to resort to using a dryer sheet as my bookmark since it was on my nightstand (again, don’t ask) and I was too lazy to move.

Morning Workout

This morning I woke up with extremely sore thigs. Don’t know what a thig is? Well neither do I, but sometimes typos are just too good to correct.

I was pleasantly surprised at how well my run went this morning, although tomorrow might be a New Year’s Day repeat since my body always feels the biggest workout pain 2 days after.

20130104-114137.jpg
I was able to cover 4 miles and fit in several core exercises before heading to work, where I enjoyed my Strawberry Banana protein shake while drooling at Val Chmerkovskiy.

20130104-114222.jpg
What? That’s a totally acceptable wallpaper for your work computer, right?

I really wanted to use a picture of his wonderful body for my wallpaper, but I didn’t think that was such a good idea.

20130104-114254.jpg
Instead, we can all enjoy those abs right now.

20130104-114339.jpg
Dessert for breakfast, if you know what I mean. 😉

Alright, time to minimize my open documents and drool over Val, power through work.

Christmas with my Mom’s Family

Yesterday afternoon my Mom’s side of the family put a wrap to the Christmas celebrations. We headed over to my Uncle’s around 2 and immediately jumped at the appetizers as we all had hungry appetites.

IMG_5726

My Aunt’s bruschetta was my absolute favorite! I’ve never been too interested in trying bruschetta, but one bite of hers and I was in a new kind of heaven.

IMG_5725

The middle bites were my favorite, as they were extra soft and sweet. Perfect! After appetizers, everyone that was 21+ went to begin our Yankee Swap while my high school cousins opened their gifts. Unfortunately they’re at the age where they only want gift cards so it’s no fun to watch them open.

IMG_5735

I picked #3 out of 9 and I was pretty worried but luckily I went home with what I picked and what I wanted the most. A mini brownie maker with the BEST brownie mix! Okay, so this doesn’t really correlate with my desire to eat clean, buttttt this is awesome.

After the gifts and Yankee Swap were complete, I hung out on the couch with my cousins before we sat down for dinner.

photo-25

My Aunt prepared every dish, and yes, I took a little of everything, but my favorite was actually the mac ‘n cheese. I’m a mac ‘n cheese snob in the sense that I only like Kraft shells or characters, but her homemade mac ‘n cheese was out of this world.

IMG_5734

It was extra cheesy, just the way I like it! My other favorite was her chicken wrapped in tomato and cheese stuffing. Holy crap. And that crusted ball you see, that’s actually a potato covered in planko. I wasn’t a fan of the potato but I did eat the shell!

If you want to see big dogs, just take a look at one of my Uncle’s Newfoundland dogs weighing in at 125 pounds.

IMG_5738

IMG_5737

Izzy is such a fluff ball and all I wanted to do was cuddle her all day and night. Such a cute baby!

I didn’t snap a picture of the desserts, but I did enjoy a handful or two of my Mom’s addicting mix before we hit the road to brave the snow storm we were stuck in. When we arrived home, my parents, Ryan and I cuddled in our family room and enjoyed Ryan’s last night by watching Trouble with the Curve. I didn’t pay attention the entire time as I was busy with a little work, but from what I saw I enjoyed the movie!

Sunday

Today has been a pretty busy and tiring day. I woke up around 9 (not enough sleep), and ran a decent 4 miles before saying goodbye to Ryan and attacking my list of errands. I failed pretty much with everything I wanted to accomplish (finding a new foam roller and a going out top), but I did score some pretty sweet deals at Yankee Candle and GNC.

IMG_5753

After my errands I enjoyed a bowl of Peanut Butter Banana Oatmeal before I hit the gym for a strength workout and to relax and unwind in the sauna. On my way home from the gym I shoveled a good 60% of my neighbor’s driveway, and was supposed to be at Allie’s house for the evening to watch the football game, but I’m completely wiped out from the shoveling.

I’m just about to crawl into my bed and watch a chick flick on my new Blu-Ray dvd player I got for Christmas.

photo-26

It has some really kick ass features that I wasn’t expecting. Actually, on my Christmas list I asked for “a basic DVD player that plays DVDs” and received a Blu-Ray DVD player from my Dad. He seriously spoils me. 🙂

I’m really craving a little Gerard Butler in my life so I have a night of drooling ahead of me. Hope everyone had a great weekend!

Date Night & Chobani Addiction

If my body was hurting yesterday, then this morning is death for my body. Along with being tired, my body is seriously feeling Heather’s almost-puke workout from Thursday.

Yesterday I was able to enjoy another half relaxing day. After leaving work at 1 for a half day, I went to the gym for a light cardio workout which included 25 minutes on the elliptical and a 1-mile speed walk, and then the best part, 25 minutes in the sauna. Talk about relaxing.

My night got even better as Mark the Prospect and I celebrated him being a smarty pants and passing the CBIM test, aka the Certified Business Intelligence Professional test. We had planned on going on out to eat, but we were so tired and comfy on the couch watching a movie that we just decided to stay in. I didn’t mind at all. It was cold and windy outside, and I really didn’t want to go out to eat again.

532051_729468232973_917704017_n

The Prospect requested a picture of us and I was happy to oblige, even if it did turn out dark and blurry. Damn that earring earned the center of attention in the picture!

I got home around 11:30 and was out cold, before waking this morning around 9 am. I could have stayed in bed a lot longer but I have several things I want to get done before we head to my Mom’s brother’s house for Christmas with her family.

I do plan on getting some type of workout in this morning, but I’ll have to see what my body tells me it’s okay with. I just finished up my newest addiction, thanks to Lisha. Vanilla greek yogurt mixed with peanut butter, holy heavens is this baby good.

photo-20

I one uped her and went for Chobani Vanilla Chocolate Chunk.

photo-21

Mixed with Teddie’s Peanut Butter and this baby is a slam dunk and perfect for pre-workout fuel.

Alright, time to go tackle my to-do list before heading to my Uncle’s. Luckily the desserts there rarely tempt me. I’m tackling this holiday party with a clean-eating mind!

And before I sign out, a seriously special shout-out to my girls that left comments on yesterday’s post and encourage me to not give up and beat myself up for my holiday weight gain. You girls and all of my readers mean the world to me. So thankful for you guys every single day! xo

Egg in my Oatmeal

Hey guys! The past few days I’ve had the mindset to post morning and night but the holidays have literally snuck up on my ass and have kept my nights pretty crazy. By the time I’m done, looking at my computer screen is honestly the last thing I want to do. I’ve been waking up to a butt load of text messages from friends sent around 9 pm that start out friendly and then quickly become grumpy texts because they think they’re being ignored. Oh the glories of going to bed early and waking up early.

Last night was another busy night. Both of my parents had holiday parties to attend, so I was in charge of the pup. By the time I got to him it was around 5:30. We played quickly, fed the meowing cat, and then jumped into my car to run errands.

He had fun making me freeze to death while he stuck his head out the window as we drove around town to hit up the library, grocery store, and gas station.

20121221-101922.jpg
This is Kip’s “I mean business face.” I made him about 20 minutes late for his typical dinner and I could easily tell he wasn’t pleased with my shenanigans.

I went a little crazy at the library and picked up quite the assortment of books.

20121221-102042.jpg
2 Christmas books: one a romance and one a mystery, and then a summer-ish book. I usually only leave with a max of 2 books, but I couldn’t choose between the Christmas books so I said screw it and left like a nerd with 3 books.

Oh and the highlight of my trip and night? Buy one get one free on tubs of Cool Whip! I had an Apple Pie Quest Bar that I wanted for dessert last night and part of my trip to the grocery store was to find a “healthier” option for a topping. Bingo!!

20121221-102125.jpg
Along with Walden Farms pancake syrup, this baby was a knock-out! It seriously tasted like warm apple pie.

Since I ate about half of one of the Cool Whip tubs last night (addicting!), I wasn’t sure how I’d feel this morning, but I was surprised when I got a great 4 mile run in FIVE minutes quicker than usual. What the?! I honestly do think I can attribute this to my strength training and working with a personal trainer the past 5 ½ weeks. The improvements I’ve seen are really blowing me away. Best $$$$ I’ve probably ever spent.

Morning Workout

• 4 mile run
• 4 sets of 15 stair push-ups
• 10 burpees with bicep curl to overhead press
• 50 crunches and 50 side-to-side crunches
• 1 minute plank hold and :30 second holds each side
• 50 heel touchers
• 2 sets of 20 plank tucks
• Stretching

20121221-102301.jpg
I felt so good this morning after that workout! Talk about a great way to start your Friday.

Today at work we have our holiday party, and since us girls in the Marketing Department oversee it, we get to start setting up in a little bit. Since I knew my morning and day was going to be a little different, I made sure to eat a filling breakfast since I’ll be in “go-go-go” mood very shortly.

Breakfast

20121221-102431.jpg
This morning I whipped up a bowl of peanut butter banana oatmeal, but this time I spiced it up a little. Along with my usual additions of chia seeds, flax, cinnamon and Truvia, I included an egg white and a little vanilla protein powder. I’ve seen this idea pop up on blogs and Instagram, and figured this morning was the best day for it.

20121221-102518.jpg
This had to have been one of the better bowls of oatmeal I’ve had! I love the addition of the egg, which you can’t even taste. I put a dollop of peanut butter on top before leaving for work, and when I sat down at my desk, it had melted everywhere. So. Amazing. Holy. Schnikes.

Now that I’m full, I have a little bit of work to do before a fun afternoon and evening full of a Yankee Swap with the marketing girls, amazing food, an ugly sweater contest and a white elephant gift exchange with the entire company.

20121221-102616.jpg
Oh and that amazing food I’m talking about, just check out our menu. Let’s get this party started!

The Dreaded First Date

With all of this strength training and kick-ass workouts that Heather is putting me through, do you know what I have come to look forward to? Cardio days. It’s like Christmas morning to me, seriously. I used to get so bored of my cardio routines on my lunch breaks, but now with my strength workouts, the rare “cardio only” day is something that I have really begun to look forward to.

It felt good to plug away on the cardio machines today, but it also made me miss my strength workouts. Funny how things work, huh?

Afternoon Workout

  • 15 minute run
  • 15 minutes vertical elliptical
  • 1 set of 13 tricep press with 15 lb dumbbell
  • 13 lumberjack chops with 15 lb dumbbell, each side

Can you tell I was missing my weights today? I HAD to do something dumbbell related, and the last exercise also worked my core so it was a double whammy! 🙂

Lunch

photo-13

After my workout I enjoyed a bowl of brown rice, ground turkey, broccoli slaw, mushrooms and tomatoes. I LOVE this meal because it’s so easy to make and deliciously healthy too!

Tonight I have a date! <– That exclamation point is only there because I’m trying to sound excited. I’m tired of continually going on first dates, it gets tiring after a bit, but I know that if I want a relationship then I’m going to have to suck it up and go on those dreaded first dates.

He seems pretty normal and just bought Christmas scented Yankee Candles so he’s already good in my books. He’s coming up from Lowell, which is about 40 minutes away, and we’re going to get a drink and play pool at one of my favorite places in Manchester.

Hopefully this goes well, since he seems extremely cute in photos and sounds like a good guy so far. Let’s just hope I don’t end up on Catfish with this one!

Cousin Love and Taco Bowls

Goooood morning everyone! Can you tell I’m well rested and finally feeling back to my chipper and happy self? It seems several nights of quality sleep were all I needed to recover from a hectic weekend!

I woke up feeling like an entirely different chick, and I knew while lacing up my running shoes that I was going to have a great run. My run was awesome, and my legs weren’t feeling too painful from yesterday afternoon’s legs and arms workout. I cut it back a little because I was pressed for time, but 75% of it is better than nothing. It’s always better to do what you can instead of doing nothing at all.

Morning Workout

• 3.4 mile run
• 3 sets of 15 stair push-ups
• 1 minute plank hold
• 50 heel touchers
• 50 scissors
• 50 crunches
• 2 sets of 20 plank tucks
• Stretching

Breakfast

20121205-110428.jpg
I was pretty hungry this morning so I enjoyed half of a grapefruit and my extreme chocolate milkshake protein shake mixed with almond milk, and dun dun dun, a Chobani yogurt bowl. Such a shocker, I know! I promise tomorrow it will be slightly different!

Last Night

Right from work last night I headed over to my cousin Lindze and her husband, Mike’s condo for dinner and a relaxing night. They weren’t able to attend Thanksgiving this year, as they chose to spend Thanksgiving with his family and Christmas with ours this year, so it was awesome seeing them again. I hadn’t seen Lindze since my cousins Origami Owl party!

When I arrived they were working together in preparing our dinner. They were super cute, especially with Lindze’s little baby bump showing.

Dinner was an underrated and healthy meal.

20121205-110523.jpg
Taco salad!

I always had the impression that tacos were extremely unhealthy, but if you choose the right toppings, it really is quite the healthy dish! Since I had eaten so well during the day, I really wanted a small scoop of sour cream on top of my taco salad, so I scooped away.

20121205-110625.jpg
I topped my ground turkey with shredded lettuce, salsa, fresh tomatoes, shredded cheese and a dollop of sour cream.

With full bellies, we cuddled their dog and cats like crazies.

20121205-110749.jpg
Brady is such a fur ball and a total snuggle bug! I always want to shove him in my purse when it’s time to leave, but they are really attached to their boys.

20121205-110833.jpg
I mean, just look at that death grip Mike has on Brady. He was also overheard saying, “I really want a baby,” so I think we have an impatient father-to-be on our hands. 😉

While Mike watched Storage Wars, Lindze and I enjoyed girl talk and playing around with photos on Instagram.

20121205-111101.jpg
Judging by that look I think we were being too loud.

20121205-111156.jpg
I had such an awesome night with those two and I can’t wait to see them on Christmas where they’ll reveal the gender of their baby!

Hope everyone’s having a great Wednesday, and I’ll be back with another post this evening.

I Hate Burpees

As I sit here at my computer, the actual typing of this post is literally painful. Last night, after battling a case of hot flashes and the chills at work, Heather put me through a workout that made me want to cry. My arms were screaming bloody murder, and this morning, they’re screaming revenge on Heather.

Ow.

It was such a quick workout, but it definitely wasn’t easy. Once we got to the TRX area, the first words out of her mouth were, “burpee time.”

Bugh, seriously!

20121204-115358.jpg
I don’t hate burpees, but I don’t like them either. The only time I hate them is when I wear a loose shirt and people are around. Check and check.

Now I know I have abs of steel (I can dream!), but I hate the idea of being watched and critiqued by outsiders while my shirt is flip-flopping in the wind with my stomach in full view. It’s just not cute.

The burpee workout had me holding two 10-lb dumbbells. I’d place the dumbbells on the ground, hop back, do a push up, hop up, do a bicep curl to an overhead press. 15 bloody times.

We then headed to the cables to do 2 different chest/shoulder/back workouts which included crossing my arms in an X and hugging a tree. I left my paper in my car so that’s as technical as we’ll get. 😉

This was followed by 2 variations of TRX cable pull-ups, high and low, side planks with a lateral dumbbell raise with a hip dip, and finally jump squats into overhead presses.

This workout was repeated once but it was hated for the entire night.

When I got home, I was feeling a lot better than earlier in the day, and no longer suffered the hot and cold flashes. I enjoyed Thanksgiving #2 leftovers and then settled on the couch with a bag of pretzel sticks. I was seriously lacking in the carbs department and needed comfort food while I watched a Christmas movie.

**

I was out cold by 8:30 last night and slept like a rock, but with all that sleep, I still needed MORE. Don’t you just hate how long it can take for your body to recover from several hard and tiring days?

I contemplated taking a personal day, then quickly decided against it and gave my morning run a shot. It was a lot easier than I had anticipated, but I’ve noticed ever since I’ve started working with my personal trainer, that my runs have become more difficult. I realize it’s from the workouts Heather has been putting me through, but boy, my mornings are 10 times more difficult now!

Morning Workout

• 3.2 mile run
• 1 minute plank
• 50 heel touchers
• 50 crunches
• 30 toe touchers
• 100’s abs
• 2 sets of 13 standing dumbbell side crunches
• Stretching

20121204-115653.jpg
This is how we do planks in my house. Jake ALWAYS has to sit underneath my chest. I feel bad when I drip an incredible amount of sweat on him, but he never seems phased. He keeps me going. My little motivator for not crashing on him.

Breakfast

20121204-115837.jpg
Breakfast was once again half of a grapefruit and a chocolate protein shake before work and a Chobani pomegranate yogurt bowl several hours later at work.

I have my legs & arms workout scheduled for today, but my body is so sore that I’m contemplating either taking the day off completely or just doing light cardio for a little at the gym.

Tonight I’ll be heading to my cousin Lindze’s house to have dinner and spend the evening with her and her husband, Mike, so an evening workout isn’t doable.

I’ll have to decide quickly!

Switching up the Morning Workout

Last night I felt like a little rebel child by staying up an hour past my bedtime. Instead of my typical, “be in bed reading by 9 and lights out by 10” gig, I didn’t head up until 10, and didn’t turn the TV off until the winners of Dancing with the Stars All-Stars were revealed at 11.

When Tony and Melissa were crowned the winners, I became so caught up in their happiness that I cried for them. Sounds pathetic, but if you’re a fan of the show, then you know what I’m talking about. It’s great to see 2 deserving individuals win; an overall feel good moment. And please, I didn’t ball my eyes out, it was more like several tears slid down my cheeks. 😛

Getting 1 less hour of sleep took an evident toll on me, and it didn’t help that my legs were still extremely tight and sore. I didn’t think a run would be possible, and while I contemplated crawling back into bed for an additional 30 minutes or so, I knew a walk would be better than nothing.

I grabbed my copy of The Happiness Project and got to walking. After walking half a mile, I wanted to test out my legs, and set off for a half mile run. Once I got moving I realized my legs didn’t hurt AS bad as they originally had. At that point, I knew I could get in several miles but at the same time I wanted to listen to my body, allow it to recover and not overdue it.

It felt nice to switch up my workout, and the remainder of my workout included intervals of walking and running. In the end, I ran 2.5 and walked 1.25. While I ran 1-1.5 miles less than normal, I didn’t feel bad about that because I got a great workout and it honestly didn’t feel like I skimped out on a workout either.

I finished my workout with a handful of core exercises, and plan to run 1.5 miles on my lunch along with hopefully 10 minutes on the elliptical or spin bike.

Morning Workout

  • 2.5 mile run & 1.25 mile walk
  • 15 stair push-ups
  • 50 heel touchers
  • 30 toe touchers
  • 50 scissors
  • 50 crunches
  • Stretching & foam rolling

Since I was feeling more tired than usual, I knew that last night’s Muscle Milk freebie would fit perfectly into my breakfast. Along with half of a grapefruit, I enjoyed Muscle Milk Light’s Vanilla Latte that contained caffeine. Not only did it taste like breakfast, but it was very light, didn’t weigh me down, and gave me a boost!

While I enjoyed the shake, I can’t say that I’d buy it on my own as it was just a little too sweet for me.

I also enjoyed a Chobani power bowl, which included Mango Chobani and ½ tbsp. of: chia seeds, flax seed and raw oats to round out my breakfast later in the morning, and enjoyed a banana and almonds before going to the gym on my lunch hour.

Tonight I have a fro-yo date with Lindsay and I couldn’t be any happier. I haven’t seen that gypsy since our last fro-yo date which seemed ages ago. We had fro-yo plans 2 weeks ago, but with her traveling to CT for work the last 2 weeks and me being sick, we had to cancel.

Now it’s time for me to get my big butt to the gym and finish up the work day.

Catch you guys later with a full belly and a fro-yo recap. SO EXCITED!! 🙂

I’ve Got a Double Whammy Post-Holiday Monday Blues

I don’t know about you guys, but it sure was difficult to get up this morning, plus it didn’t help that I stayed up until 10 pm watching Hitched for the Holidays, with heartthrob Joey Lawrence.

Typically I am in bed and reading from 9 until 10, or before if I’m exhausted, that way I don’t have the annoying TV syndrome to keep me wired and awake late into the night. Last night I made an exception since I was in the holiday mood, and I just have to gush over how funny and cute the movie was!

By the time I was in brushed and in bed, it was a little after 10, and I HAD to listen to Lisha explain a new show on MTV, so I was ready for shuteye around quarter of 11. Ick.

In all seriousness, have you guys heard of the show called, Catfish? We think the title is a ripoff of Plentyoffish. According to Lisha, it’s almost like, “True Life,” but the people on the show have been dating someone online for years + and they contact this man who I’m assuming is the host of the show to schedule a meeting.

Just read Lisha’s descriptions:

Basically I NEED to watch this show, especially since I love online dating! Luckily I’ve never had horror stories like this before, and only some guys have looked a little different in person.

**

This morning I woke up 5 minutes before my alarm was scheduled to go off. Isn’t that the worst? I was so excited to look at the clock and get a warm greeting that I still had several extra hours to sleep, but not this morning.

I dragged myself out of bed and pouted in the bathroom before I went for a miserable run. My body is definitely not used to running this early, even if it had only been since Wednesday that I ran at 6.

Morning Workout

  • 3.7 mile run
  • 3 sets of 15 stair push-ups
  • 1 minute plank and 30 seconds each side
  • 50 crunches and 50 side-to-side crunches
  • 50 heel touchers
  • 100’s abs
  • 30 scissors
  • Stretching

It felt great to be pressed for time again and be able to get down to business with my workouts. I think lacking that time frame to get my workouts in on the weekends result in me ignoring my core or strength work. I lollygag on the weekends, what can I say, it’s a talent.

Before heading out the door to work, I enjoyed half of a juicy grapefruit and a chocolate cookies & cream protein shake. I had to mix it up this morning since I ran out of the protein I was using before, but damn, that shake was so satisfying!

I didn’t have time to snap a picture but into the shake went:

  • 8 oz almond milk
  • ½ scoop each of chocolate protein and cookies & cream protein
  • Handful of ice cubes
  • 3 frozen banana slices

2 hours later I had a more substantial 2nd half of my breakfast and enjoyed a Chobani power bowl which included Mango Chobani and ½ TBSP each of: flax seed, raw oatmeal and chia seeds.

Delish!

I have about half a day left of work before I have my 2nd training session with Heather, my personal trainer!

And a special Happy Birthday to my mom and an extra special Happy Anniversary to parents!

There’s the Clementine for the Win

I’m going to start off by showcasing last night’s amazing dinner, followed by this morning’s nasty ass breakfast.

Last night after work, I snuck into the gym for a quick 1.25 mile speed walk. Since I went into work late, I skipped my lunch which meant no afternoon workout. I honestly wasn’t sure if I was going to do a P90X workout last night so I thought an intense walk would be beneficial, plus, I got to drool over Jeremy so it was a total win. 😉

Who knew speed walking could work up quite a sweat! I should think about joining the Olympic speed walking team, although I’m not sure my midg legs would keep up! I can only imagine some super long limbed females in that event.

Since I was already sweaty, I decided to bust out the Biceps & Back workout. I actually skipped the Plyometric workout, but I just knew that with me being sick, the thought of that exhausted me, while I knew I could handle weights.

I have been religiously monitoring my calories, fat, carbs and protein intake with Spark People (I’m addicted!) and knew that I needed more fats and carbs today to reach my goal. I had been craving peanut butter toast for a few days so I knew this was the perfect time for it.

20121121-110132.jpg
With naner slices. Pure heaven! I actually used my PB2 on Fiber One Whole Wheat bread, and I’m not sure if it was the thickness of the bread or what, but I felt like I was eating a brick, it was so heavy and droopy!

Still hit the spot!

I finished up my night with watching the Dancing with the Stars recap show, and was SOOO excited to see that Kelly & Val will be dancing in the finals. Wooo Team Vally!

20121121-110308.jpg
Couple up already, you cuties. I just want to smoosh their faces togetherrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

20121121-110343.jpg
Obsessed. Have babies already, puhhh-lease! Satisfy my crazy fan girl cravings.

I headed up to my room to make my way through Peanut Butter Fingers Book of the month, The Happiness Project. So far I’ve managed to get through about a chapter a night, and this is honestly such a great read. I’ve heard mixed reviews about it but I honestly never want to put it down. My damn curfew always gets the best of me. I’m hoping to read a big chunk of it over my next 4 days off!

20121121-110508.jpg
Ps, I most definitely rubbed the Acqua Di Gio sampler on my pillows like I used to when I was 12. My brother and mom used to always rip these pages out of magazines for me to put in my drawers or on my pillows. I’ve matured and now usually spray cologne on my pillows before bed because it makes me feel like I have a boyfriend safe.

20121121-110650.jpg
Honestly though, they’re skimping on how much they put on the pages. That little flap, really?!

Wednesday

This morning I woke up extremely happy and told myself while I was getting changed that I was going to have a kickass run and own it.

Own it I did. I completed a 3.65 run that left me feeling high on life and I didn’t struggle through it once. Lately I’ve had trouble breathing or have had tired legs, but this morning, all of that disappeared.

Morning Workout

• 3.65 mile run –love the odd mileage
• 1:10 plank hold and 30 seconds each side
• 2 sets of 20 mountain climbers
• 50 heel touchers
• 30 toe touchers
• 50 scissors
• 100s Abs
• 50 crunches
• Stretching

This morning I really wasn’t sure what to have for breakfast, and my dillydallying of this process put me behind schedule. I grabbed a plain Chobani yogurt, threw protein powder and chia seeds into a bag and called it a morning.

I struggled through half of a boring protein shake on my way to work, and at work I mixed the ingredients together and popped it into the fridge for about 20 minutes.

Awful. Nasty. Not satisfying AT ALL. Ick. I did what any other girl does when she needs satisfaction. I went for something sweet.

And there’s the clementine for the win. Best part of my breakfast! How sad.
