Gotta Love Deliveries.. Herbalife Came!

Today was a busy day! I switched up my normal lunch time routine and opted to head home to check out my Herbalife delivery. I’ve been patiently waiting for my products to arrive all week so I eagerly took lunch an hour and a half early to check out my new swag. 🙂

This box was heavy, weighing in at 36 pounds. It was a workout just carrying it inside and upstairs. Afternoon workout complete.

After playing around with my new Herbalife products and taking several vitamins, I headed over to the DMV to renew my duplicate license. Back in March, my car was broken into and gone went my license. Since I was residing in Los Angeles at the time, the DMV overnighted me a duplicate license, and since tomorrow is my half birthday (woo celebration!) the 6-month dup was due to expire. I was surprised and relieved when I left the DMV with a valid license after only an hour. Since I went around 1:30, I figured, along with my coworker, that I would be there for several hours.

The rest of the afternoon flew by at work, although I was extremely antsy to get to the gym and get a cardio workout in. I snacked on a Herbalife protein bar at the DMV to keep myself from passing out from hunger. I had made a protein shake for a lunch on the go while I headed to the DMV but it tasted like a dirty butt hole, so I nixed that sucker. Luckily I had a wrap at work that I had my mind-set on while having hunger hallucinations at the DMV.

I had a great 1.6 mile run in the women’s gym while a Maksim Chmerkovskiy look-a-like trainer worked a lady in front of me. Talk about watching a GREAT show at the gym. I turned my iPod off just so I could hear his training tips to the lady. I told you I like getting a good deal, and I’m pretty sure watching and eavesdropping on a training session is one of the best deals you can snag. Side note, I did catch Maksim checking himself out in the mirror while the lady was lifting. Andddd I’m no longer attracted to you.

Boosting that Endurance!

Another morning where I kicked total ass on my run! Even though the scale isn’t going in the direction I want it to at the moment, I felt extremely light and confident on my run, which I can’t complain about one bit. I’m owing it all to the Herbalife shakes I’ve been consuming twice daily, because ever since I started drinking 2 a day, I’ve noticed my running has become easier.

In other Herbalife news, I’ve been waiting patiently since Thursday for my entire product line to arrive on my doorsteps, and guess what, I just checked the status, and it arrived! I’m now going to be able to be on the Herbalife program in full-swing. That means I’ll have additional protein powder flavors; French Vanilla and Dutch Chocolate, I’ll have my specialty protein bars, and will have the vitamins, aloe concentrate, and a shit ton of other products. Don’t worry; I’ll dedicate an entire blog post tonight about what I ordered. 🙂

I’m so excited; I might even head home on my lunch to check it out. I really am unsure if I’ll be able to wait until 7ish!

Morning Workout

  • 4 mile run
  • 15 push-ups
  • 2 minutes of plank hold – split into 1 minute, and then 2-30 second holds
  • 2 sets of 20 mountain climbers
  • 2 sets of 13 standing side-to-side dumbbell crunches
  • 2 sets of 13 dumbbell skiing squats
  • I completely am unsure if I did crunches; I literally think I forgot to!
  • Stretching

This morning I made a bomb ass protein shake. Peaches are my freshly discovered favorite fruit add-in to my Cookies & Cream based protein shakes, and am very eager to try the peaches in my French Vanilla powder that arrived today.

Into the shake went almond milk, water, ice cubes, about 4 slices of frozen peaches, about half a cup of frozen blueberries, a heaping motherload scoop of Fage 2% plain Greek yogurt, a shit ton of spinach and a double dash of cinnamon.

It might not look appetizing but it sure does taste heavenly.

On a separate note, yesterday I tried the sauna at my gym for about 5 minutes and I fell in love! I know exactly what I’ll be doing tonight after work. Hopefully I’ll sweat out the 20 lbs of water I’m currently retaining!

Beets & Gorilla Glue.. I’d Cap That

Last night after work I had nothing planned, and was excited to have the opportunity to kick back and relax for the night. Have a little me time and not worry about meetings, rushing around to meet people or to run errands. I also wanted a break from my computer, hence the no blog post last night.

I have some catching up to do! For a relaxing evening, I feel like I sure didn’t relax too much. Every Thursday, a local farm owner brings a box of veggies to two ladies in my office, one being my marketing coworker, Jen. Since both Jen and Judy were on vacation, they allowed Nichole and I to divvy up the veggies. That might have been the highlight of my day. I walked away with purple tomatoes (?!), which I demolished before leaving work, 3 beets, green beans, and some type of lettuce.

I’ve been wanting to try beets for quite a bit now so I jumped on the opportunity to snag those babies. After scrubbing those suckers down, I wrapped them in tinfoil with baby carrots and a little olive oil, and baked them for what seemed like 50 or so minutes at 375. I wasn’t hungry when they came out of the oven, so the final verdict will come tonight!

While my beets and carrots were roasting, I walked a mile on my treadmill while trying to read my Runner’s World magazine. Eventually I gave up and watched How I Met Your Mother. That show kills me! I then proceeded to have a little DIY repair project to salvage my iPod band for just a little bit longer. Yes, I did get a considerable amount of Gorilla Glue on my fingers. It’s still stuck on my fingers and beyond annoying. I’m pretty sure I’ve seen Goo Gone around the office a few weeks ago so I might conduct a search party shortly.

While I was talking to my friend in bed last night, he introduced me to an app on the iPhone called, “I’d Cap That.” You can take a picture or choose one from your phone’s library or off of Facebook, and it will put a random caption on it. You can choose to refresh the caption once, but I found a way around it. Some of the captions aren’t for young kids eyes, but there are also some really funny ones.

That was my favorite I got last night! It’s completely true too. 🙂 I cannot stop using this app, talk about a quick addiction! Side note: When I went to add the tag for this, I accidentally wrote, “I’d Tap That.” Geez, looks like we all know where my mind is!

This morning I woke up 3 minutes before my alarm went off. In my head I was hoping that when I glanced at my phone that I’d still have a few more hours of sleep ahead of me. NOPE! Don’t you just hate those moments? I seem to get them quite often. I’ve also been waking up at midnight on the dot the past few nights this week. What gives?! I don’t remember the last time I fully slept through the nite.

This mornings workout was much better than yesterdays. I squeezed in a 3.4 mile run, got my planks in, additional core work, and then alternated between sets of squats and jump rope.

  • 3.4 mile run
  • 2 sets of 1 minute plank holds
  • 2 sets of 20 mountain climbers
  • 50 crunches and 50 side-to-side crunches
  • 13 squats with overhead 8 lb. dumbbell press, followed by 50 jump ropes, repeated twice
  • Stretching

The quick workout felt good, and am very eager to get quality workouts in this weekend. This morning also marks the first day of trying my new Herbalife protein! I ordered the Cookies & Cream flavor, and once I received it I was apprehensive about the taste, thinking that it’d be too sweet, but ya know what? It is the bomb diggity! The shake is incredible, and while it is sweet, it’s not excessively sweet.

Cookies & Cream Protein Shake

  • 2 scoops of Herbalife Cookies & Cream Protein
  • 3/4 cup of skim milk… I was all out of my Almond Milk
  • additional water
  • Ice cubes
  • a heaping scoop of Fage 2% Plain Greek Yogurt

As part of the program I am beginning as of right now, I will be consuming two protein shakes a day, a protein-filled snack and a regular dinner. Or you could choose your meal to be breakfast or lunch, it really depends on what you’re craving that day. These shakes are supposed to help increase your protein (well duh Allie!), curb your hunger and help you lose the weight you’re looking to shed. I’m extremely excited about this program and being a Herbalife distributor.

I made a big purchase last night of various Herbalife products, including: French Vanilla protein powder, Dutch Chocolate protein powder, vanilla almond, chocolate peanut butter, and chocolate coconut protein bars, vitamins, Vitamin C face moisturizer (super excited!) and various other products. Once I receive my humungo box of goodies next week, I’ll showcase all of the items.

Hitting Balls Solves Everything

The afternoon was about 10 times better than the first half of my day. There’s no surprise that a quick workout and spending time at the driving range with my best friend instantly flipped my mood.

  • 6 minutes rowing, level 4.5 – I was going to only do 5 minutes, but this lady wouldn’t STOP staring me down every 30 seconds so I kept going just to annoy her.. mature I know
  • 2 sets of 25 medicine ball sit-ups
  • 20 side-to-side medicine ball sit-ups
  • Stretching

I quickly made it to the driving range where we saw our former high school teammate, Ashley, and scored 2 for 1 buckets! Pays having connections. 😉

Golfing was extremely fun and I would love to get to the ranges a lot more before they close for the season. After hitting balls, I whipped up chocolate peanut butter yogurt in my favorite glass.

Tim, an ex of mine from when I lived in Los Angeles, gave me a set of 4 of these glasses when he was packing up his house. The story behind the glass is unique. Tony’s On the Pier is a bar in Manhattan Beach and when you order a fire shot, it’s served in this glass, which you get to keep. Tim did a lot of shots in his days!

Hodgepodge Cardio Workout

This afternoon I finally got my appetite back and wasn’t feeling so sick anymore, which showed in both my workout and the amount of food I inhaled.

Here’s a gist of what I ate between 12:30 and 3:00.

Mid-day Fuel

Anyone else eat an apple oddly like me and carve out the center before attacking the edges?

I left my lunch at home today so I’m lucky I packed the protein shake. I had that feeling that I didn’t grab something from the fridge; my bag was too light. Oh well, looks like the chicken and sweet potatoes will be dinner.

This afternoon’s workout was awesome and full of heart-raising exercises. The rowing machine was repaired after a solid 2 weeks of being out of commission so I was eager to strap myself in and go to town. My asthma kicked in after 10 seconds (fail. wuss. pathetic), but I stuck it out for 5 minutes. My arms were about to fall off.

  • 2 sets of 25 medicine ball sit-ups
  • 20 side-to-side medicine ball sit-ups

Feeling alive and ready to tackle the world!

This evening I’m planning on skipping spinning, as I’m exhausted and would like my body to recover so I can survive tomorrow night’s Kip Moore concert.  I’m planning on working on my training packet for Herbalife, grabbing a protein smoothie and heading over to Mike’s to help him pack up.  Two thumbs down for my best friend moving to Boston. Luckily, he’ll be less than an hour away and in a GREAT place to visit!

My mind is wandering back to the smoothie.

Sleepless in New Hampshire

Last week J.Crew Outlets emailed me “personally” 😉 to tell me that there was a 30% off sale on tops, including the clearance price. I freaked out and dropped everything I was doing to see if the shirt I bought last weekend was on sale. Guess what, it was! I got the shirt in a red, white and blue scheme, along with a very pretty bracelet for a grand total of $50 dollars. Steal! My package arrived last night so of course I HAD to wear the new top today. I feel like such a cowgirl!

Okay, moving along past the excitement.  Last night I went to Primetime Wellness after getting my rump kicked in spinning, and downed a Reese’s Peanut Butter smoothie while talking with David and Melyssa about the company and becoming a distributor of Herbalife. Well, I joined, and will now be spreading the love and success of Herbalife to everyone and anyone, I’m so excited about this new venture! I will get into the company a little later on when I have more time to sit down and discuss it in full-depth.

Along with my smoothie, I received a tea, which I’m PRETTTTTTTY positive was laced with caffeine, which resulted in me waking up at 3am for a trip to the bathroom and kept me awake until 5am. Really cool, especially since my alarm went off at 5:35am. I’m a zombie, and will probably be skipping spinning tonight since I’m exhausted and feel like I could throw up. If I get sick before seeing Kip tomorrow night, I will tear shit up! Watch out immune system, don’t mess with me!

I snoozed an extra time this morning, as I deserved it after last night’s torture, and only lost a few minutes from my normal running period. I struggled through 3.1 miles, part due to my lack of sleep and also due to my little legs getting owned in spinning.

This Day is Flying By.. Oh Wait, I Just Jinxed Myself

Today was flying by until Lindsay emailed me at work and asked how my day was. Shit hit the fan, as in, my day started dragging after I bragged my toosh off about how quickly the day had gone by. Karma, cool, thanks.

My appetite returned and I chowed down on leftovers from last night. Well, to be honest, since I wanted to puke when I saw the chicken on the grill and opted for tortilla chips to cure my unknown illness, today’s lunch technically wasn’t “leftovers” for me. I’ve been going through a phase where I only enjoy a sweet marinade on my chicken and salmon, so since the flavor wasn’t up to my picky standards, I doused it in ketchup. I put ketchup on my ketchup, what up now?! I did this all weekend, which concerned my cousin, then entertained her as I grabbed packets of ketchup at a gas station on our drive home yesterday afternoon to douse my leftover chicken from Saturday night. I’m weird, deal with it.

In about an hour I’m off to the gym for a quick run before spinning at 4:30. I’m SO excited for spinning, as I haven’t been able to go in over a week. I signed up for tomorrow night’s class as well so I’m thrilled for the classes I have lined up so far.

What’s even more exciting is that I have a business meeting with Primetime Wellness Club, a local smoothie and fitness cafe in the heart of the State’s capital that offers protein smoothies that use Herbalife and have aided in monumental weight loss endeavors. I was introduced to the cafe on Saturday by my cousin and was excited by their delicious and healthy smoothies, and also by the sign that mentioned they were looking to expand into other locations and states and to discuss if interested. Guess who brought it up? This girl did! I meet with one of the head honchos, Melyssa, tonight to discuss their business plan and to get more information on the company and the process of being a part of their team.

I’m also planning on getting the Reese’s Peanut Butter protein smoothie. That or the Butterfinger. Or the Grasshopper. Crap, I can’t decide. 35 flavors is too much. Looks like I have 35 flavors to try. Is it 7 yet? JUST WANT A GODDAMN SMOOTHIE.
