Not Fit for Cold Weather

I don’t know much, but one thing that I do know is that a good night’s sleep cures everything. Last night after blogging I went up for an early night. I’m not the biggest fan of watching TV in bed since I’m convinced the light and noise from the TV makes it harder for me to fall asleep, so I read while watching Dancing with the Stars on mute, and only unmuted it for the couples I wanted to see. I lost it when Drew Lachey had his shirt ripped open and started pumping his hips, and loved the way Val Chmerkovskiy threw around his partner in the Paso Dablo. Hubba hubba! All this pumping of the hips and male force… wait, sorry, this isn’t 50 Shades of Grey.

I was out cold somewhere between 9 and 9:20, and I don’t remember anything until my alarm went off this morning.

Before my run, I cleaned cat puke off my treadmill (thanks so much Jake), and talked with my best friend Allie who was waiting to board her flight to Florida with her girlfriend for a vacation…. A vacation that I COULD have been on. As I sit stone cold in my office, I am deeply regretting it now. Allie and Kris are awesome together, they’re so different but so alike and they aren’t all smoochy smoochy so it would have been like 3 best friends on vacation together, instead of me being the 3rd wheel, which I have grown accustomed to over the years.

Since they’ll be in Orlando for a week, it was a vacation that I wasn’t able to take, since my vacation accrues at the rate of 3.09 hours biweekly and I wouldn’t have had enough for a weeks’ vacation and other mini trips. Last month I had looked into flights and had contemplated catching a flight on a Thursday night to spend several days with them, but instead I’ll be in New York City this Saturday. Not a total loss. The college girls and I have a fun day planned around shopping and being complete tourists.

Wow, total rant. Soooo, after cleaning puke and talking with Allie, I went for a 3 mile run and threw some weights into my workout for the first time in a good 5 days. Oopps!

Morning Workout

• 3 mile run
• 3 sets of 15 stair push-ups
• 1 minute plank hold
• 2 sets of 20 rock climbers
• 2 sets of 13 standing side dumbbell crunches, each side
• 2 sets of 13 skiing dumbbell squats
• 2 sets of 13 squats with overhead press
• 2 sets of 13 deadlifts
• Stretching

That workout left me out of breath!

I had a few extra minutes this morning so I stopped into the Farmer’s Market on my drive to work to pick up a few lemons.

I’ve had a serious craving for hot lemon water, and with the chilly fall temperatures here to stay, this was just what I needed. Plus, hot lemon water is great for cleansing your system. There’s Lewie with the double win!

I downed two mugs full of hot lemon water before having a couple bites of my overnight oats.

That’s a big lemon slice in there!

There’s something about extreme heat and cold weather that kills my appetite.

I need gloves and I also need to move somewhere warm. Both are 100% true. I’m not a fan of the cold or snow, except the first snow fall and snow on Christmas. Those two instances snow is welcome, other than that, I’m a hater. Since I’ll be looking for a creative firm in the near future, I think I’ll have to make sure to avoid companies in states with winter weather.

I got used to being on the California beaches in February and March.

This also happened in Cali, which was pretty cool.

West Coast is NOT the best coast. Being 4 hours behind friends and family and on the opposite side of the U.S was too much. East Coast is where it’s at!

Oh, back to reality. Brrrr baby it’s cold outside… and inside!
