A Difficult Right Leg

I was a little nervous for my lunch time workout, as my right leg has been bothering me all day. My hamstring and calf muscle both seemed tight, and it felt very awkward to walk. I was thinking I possible did something to it this morning, it’s been overused, or I didn’t stretch it enough this weekend.

Somehow I feel like sometimes my stretching goes out the door when I’m busy and rushing around. I tend to place my cardio and strength training as a higher priority than stretching when crammed for time, and I need to work on this better. Even though it’s an area I need to work on, I have become a much better stretcher than I used to be. It’s one of my favorite and most relaxing things to do.  I could stay in child’s pose for hours and be content.

I loved my gym hair, had to document before I got sweaty 🙂

I surprised myself during my workout and found that once I put my body into motion, it was fine.

Lunch Time Workout

  • 1.5 mile run
  • 2 sets of 25 medicine ball sit-ups
  • 20 medicine ball side sit-ups
  • Stretching
  • 12 minutes Nordic Machines.. I was only going to do 10 but at 9:40 an energetic song came on.. could NOT stop!

For lunch I had a turkey, spinach, alfalfa sprouts and mustard sandwich with a banana. My workout really brought about my hunger!

Apparently I wasn’t satisfied enough because I was still ravenous! I knew I had the perfect mid-afternoon snack. An apple and a packet of Justin’s Almond Butter. Delicious! I didn’t use all of the almond butter up, was trying to be good, but I was still hungry and it was staring me down so I spooned out the rest. Every. Last.Speck.

Fuji Apple with Justin’s Almond Butter. Yum!

Clean Eating After a Fun Weekend

After going to bed early last night and NOT being able to fall asleep, I woke up exhausted, but miraculously had an amazing 3.5 mile run. I definitely didn’t feel light thanks to yesterdays chocolate fondue attack, but I felt invincible.

After my run, I did a few core exercises before getting ready for work.

Morning Workout

  • 3.5 mile run, post-run stretching
  • 2 sets of 50 crunches & side-to-side crunches
  • 25 reverse crunches
  • 2 sets of 20 mountain climbers
  • 2 sets of 13 squats with overhead press, 8 lb. dumbbells
  • 15 push-ups

This morning I was excited to be back to my clean eating routine. Monday’s breakfast was my Veggie Scramble. So delicious and filling!

Around noon I snacked on a Chobani plain yogurt with delicious mix-ins including, blueberries, blackberries and a nut mix.

The Twins’ 2nd Birthday Party

Today was another busy day. After recovering from Friday’s wedding yesterday; I was dizzy, light-headed and nauseous, I was back in beast mode today.

Since it was raining this morning, I went to Gold’s where I ran 4 miles, attacked the stair master, and did a little core work. Unfortunately someone broke the rowing machine so I couldn’t use it. 😦

Don’t you just hate when you plan your workout ahead of time and something goes wrong to prevent you from accomplishing it all?

Morning Workout

  • 4 mile run
  • 7 minutes stair master, 30 flights
  • 2 sets of 25 medicine ball sit-ups
  • 2 sets of 20 medicine ball crunches on stability ball (regular and side)
  • 2 sets of 15 girl push-ups
  • 13 medicine ball lumberjacks
  • 13 medicine ball lumberjack squats, each side
  • Stretching

After the gym, I hurried home and got ready before heading to my cousin’s house to celebrate her twin daughters, Mia and Zoe’s 2nd birthday with my entire family.

Mia & Zoe with their MiMi

It was a HOT and humid day outside, but my cousins and aunts all had a fun time talking about everything on the deck while the men played bocce.

My Beautiful Cousin & I

My favorite part of the evening was when my cousin, Lindsay, busted out her Scentsy fondue burner. She had a display of pineapple, apples, strawberries, Oreos, Nutter Butters, and pretzels to dip into dark chocolate or caramel chocolate. The caramel chocolate was my favorite, and I might have hovered over that burner for a bit. 😛

What a wonderful day with my family. I wish tomorrow wasn’t Monday!

A Wedding in a Tornado

This weekend was crazy, hectic, and full of family and love.

I took Friday off from work and headed down to Cape Cod to celebrate the marriage of my brother’s best friend, Jay aka Viss, and his high school sweetheart of 12 years, Kate. Since going to college with my brother, I became friends with his friends, and became very close with Viss, so I was very happy to be at the wedding.

A mini tornado decided it wanted to make an appearance, and let me just say that the reception was outside, on top of a hill overlooking Provincetown.

Beginning of a Tornado

Guests were drenched, and had to run down the hill to use the bathroom at the gift shop. It was the scariest and most exciting wedding I’ve ever been to.

First Dance ❤

The wedding continued with a lot of dancing, drinks and best of all, a photobooth!

Best Friends

Jaritza, Chelsey (Brother’s GF), and Myself

I was so sad to see the night end, but after a long, hot shower to clean off all of the sweat, I was out cold.

I love weddings! 🙂
